What is Lip Neutralization?
Lip Neutralization is a gradual process that works to both even-out lip tone as well as slightly brighten naturally darker lips.
This procedure is aimed to neutralize or create an even-tone across both top and bottom lip for a consistent lip tone.
How Long Does Lip Neutralization Last?
Typically, lip blushing lasts 2-3 and will gradually lighten and fade over time, until your lips slowly return to their natural hue.
What Is Lip Neutralization Process Like?
When you arrive, please address any questions to me. I will have you fill out your paperwork before we get started, then address questions and select your color.
Once this has been completed, we will be being our session by numbing your lips.
Once your lips are numb, I will draw your outline and confirm with you on the shape and from there I will begin the lip neutralizing procedure.
Do I Need a Touchup?
Yes, permanent makeup touch ups should be done 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment.
Color may fade as much as 40%-50% within the first 4 weeks of the initial procedure.
The touch up procedure usually takes less time than the initial procedure.
How Long Does It Take to Heal?
Healing time is different for every permanent makeup client. Usually, it takes about 7-10 days for the epithelial crust to form and flake off.
The pigment will then take some time to settle into the skin, a good month should pass before the procedure is considered complete.
What Care the Lip Neutralization Pre-care Instructions?
DO NOT work out 24 hours before procedure
DO NOT Suntan or use tanning beds one week prior to the procedure
DO NOT take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before the procedure
STOP Retin A, Alpha Hydroxy Acid at least 6 weeks before the procedure
DO NOT consume alcohol, caffeine or stimulants 48 hours prior the procedure
DO NOT take Fish Oil, Primrose Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes, Hair, Skin Supplements 48 hours prior to the procedure
You must wait at least 1 month after lip fillers before having the procedure. It is possible to have poor color retention in lips that have had injections. Lip fillers can be done 6 weeks after touching up
You must wait 1 month after lip implants and get a written clearance from your surgeon before the procedure
Begin your Antiviral Medication 3 days prior to your procedure
*If you are prone to getting cold sores, you will need an antiviral prescription. Physicians usually instructs to begin taking it 3 days before the permanent makeup procedure, for a 7–10-day period.
