Fibroblast Aftercare

DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK!!!

Fibroblast Treatment What to Expect

As with most skin rejuvenation treatments, you may experience some side-effects following a Plasma Pen treatment.

However, the post-treatment downtime and recovery from a Plasma Pen device are far superior to other treatments with reduced downtime and faster recovery times.

♦ Swelling: You will notice most of the swelling on the morning after your treatment, particularly around the eyes. Swelling usually lasts 2-3 days however, if can last up to 3 weeks, depending on the intensity of the treatment and the healing ability of the patient. To minimize swelling, do the following:

Apply cold compresses up to 4 times the first hour after treatment. This will relieve inflammation and excess heat.

Please consult with your doctor about taking an Asprin or anti-inflammatory to help with residual pain or swelling in the treated area.

Sleep elevated the first night.

♦ Redness: Most redness resolves 7-10 days after treatment. A “rosy” glow can remain for several weeks after the treatment, again, depending on your healing ability, age, medications, metabolism, etc.

♦ Dry Skin: Your skin may feel dry, peel, or flake. You may notice a “sand paper” texture a few days after treatment. This is treated tissue working its way out of your body as new, fresh skin in regenerated.

♦ Bronzing, Crusting and Small Dark Spots: A Fibroblast treatment causes destruction to microscopic cylinders of skin which then exfoliates during the healing process. Fibroblast can make the skin look bronzed or small, circular carbon crusts will appear

DO NOT PICK, SCRATCH OR REMOVE

Scratching or rubbing off any carbon deposits or dots will greatly effect the healing process and may result in hypo-pigmentation of the skin that may not be able to be reversed, as well as scarring. Please refrain from all scratching, rubbing and picking and treatment areas.

Aftercare is EXTREMELY important to achieve you desired results. An aftercare kit will be provided. It is of the utmost importance to follow this aftercare.

We recommend no makeup during the healing process over the carbon crusts. If you must wear makeup, a new container of mineral makeup is best. This is because you risk the chance of infection.

You must protect the treatment area from the sun. A big hat, glasses or umbrella can be used when healing. No sunscreen can be used until the carbon crusts have fallen off.

How to care for your skin for the first 7 days

Please use the following aftercare products that will be given to you.

♦Day 1-

Upon arriving at home, use the cold compresses if needed.

Spray the treated skin with AFTER N1 (green bottle) whenever needed throughout the day to ease your discomfort.

NOTE - This will be the ONLY product you will use for this first day.

♦Day 2- and until crusts fall off

⇒Apply a thin film of AFTER N2. You can do this twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.

⇒Cleanse the area daily with lukewarm water, and a soft, lint-free cloth to remove excess oil. Follow this by patting skin dry with a clean tissue.

Do not rub back and forth over the treated area or use a cloth, sponge or the like.

⇒Use AFTER N3- which protects against the sun if you have to go outside. Apply thin layer twice a day.

→Follow this everyday after the procedure. until the carbon crusts fall off.

♦Once the carbon crusts have fallen off, you can begin using your daily cleanser and moisturizer (nothing harsh and no scrubs for 2 weeks).

♦Continue using the spray 2 times per day and incorporate the Vitamin C provided 1-2 times per day. Only 1-2 drops of Vitamin C should be used per application depending on the size of the treatment area.

♦A spf 50 sunscreen is extremely important at this time in the healing process.

♦You must wear sunscreen if you are going to be outdoors. Apply every 2 hours. Be diligent with your sunscreen and protecting the treatment area. Use sunscreen for a minimum of 6 weeks post procedure and avoid tanning beds.

♦Retin A and bleaching creams can resume 6 weeks after treatment.

♦Avoid applying lotions and creams that contain perfumes or alcohol to the areas of the skin that have been treated.

♦Do not use exfoliating products on the treated area as this may result in scarring

♦If you have had a Plasma Pen treatment around the eyes, avoid wearing contact lenses for 72 hours.

How to look after your skin for the first three months

After the first 7- 10 days, you should find that the carbon crusts have naturally fallen off, however your skin may be a little pink as it is essentially fresh, new and rejuvenated skin.

Once the Plasma carbon crusts have fallen off, you are now able to start applying your normal makeup but avoid using all other skincare products that contain glycolic or exfoliating ingredients.

We also recommend

Once the Plasma carbon crusts have fallen off, you must now begin to apply SPF 50+ sunscreen every day whilst your skin is healing, and for at least 12 weeks.

♦Avoid all other medi-aethetic or surgical treatments on the same area for at least 12 weeks whilst the skin is healing

  • Swimming and Sauna are only permitted 12 weeks after procedure and once all the crusts have fallen off the skin surface and is completely healed and closed.
  • Smokers may experience a significant worsening of the blood flow, which increases the risk of wound healing and/or slowed healing.
  • Note that after the crusts are lost a slight redness may remain in the following area treated in the weeks or months. It takes 4-6 weeks (sometimes longer) until the skin has reached it’s normal color again.
  • Follow up treatment will not be before 8 weeks from the first treatment date.

AGAIN, FAILURE TO NOT AHERE TO THESE AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS WILL RESULT IN POOR AND SOMETIMES DAMAGING RESULTS....

We don't want that and I'm sure you don't either! This is an investment and so are you!
